Better MMTS for Hyderabad (Read First)

This is not an awareness campaign, but an action campaign towards a better MMTS service in Hyderabad, especially in the interest of IT professionals working in Hyderabad and traveling by MMTS.

We have quite a number of problems to face everyday at work, home and otherwise. Traffic and travel only add to these woes. People who travel by MMTS may not suffer from traffic problems but its not problem-free either.

The MMTS service is majorly used by IT professionals working in and around Hitec City and they constitute a large majority of passengers especially during peak hours. Though the number of passengers has been steadily and visibly increasing, nothing has been done to cater to the needs of the growing numbers.

There have been many dialogues, debates and negotiation about this, but hardly any action was taken. There have been many who have tried on our behalf, now its our turn to act to solve our own problem.

Everyone of us might have had this thought to do something about this and mostly hesitate to take the first step alone. Let us all together take this first step and move towards a solution.

When we reach a considerable number of signatures supporting this petition, we can use this as a representation of our united opinion and move the concerned authorities about this.

Let's make our voice heard; sign the petition, inform about it to your friends and colleagues and let us all make the change happen.

This effort is being made by a few among all of us. If you want to volunteer for the cause, leave a comment with your details.

Hi Sarath,
Let me congratulate for the great start. You have taken a very good initiative.
Yes Hitech City is only 'Hitech' in the name, but in reality we are working no shorter then in agency area.
We have to fight for our rights at least our respective organizations can take it further..... a day dream?

Thank you for your appreciation. But, more than appreciation, the requirement is for support. I wish you would take out some time from inevitably busy lives and join us to fix some things.

Excellent efforts. MMTS is the best, cheap, versatile public transportation mode of Hyderabad. Instead of developing it further, unfortunately the Govt is planning a metro rail which would entail in large scale demolition. Add insult to injury metro rail will not be on 'broad gauge' and will be in 'standard gauge' which would not help in 'interchangability' with MMTS.

Also, metro rail is not in the Secunderabad - Bolarum route, for which only MMTS is the respite. Lot of commuters are living in the thickly populated regions of RK puram, Safilguda regions in Secunderabad-Bolarum section.

The proposed metro rail of Hyderabad should be constructed with Broad Gauge ( 1676 m m) tracks so as to enable interchangeability with MMTS trains.

MMTS should be extended to Bolarum, Shamshabad ( new airport) and Patancheru, besides, Bhongir.

Good start and your blog motivates me too.
I just wanted to check with you how can I forward with a complaint in MMTS. Do you have any idea?
B'coz I am a daily commuter in MMTS from James street to Hitech in the evening 6.15, and it is horrible to travel in the ladies compartment b'coz of the Gentle men getting into.
I want to do something for this.B'coz it is questioning the security of the lady since they use hands and fights each other in the train sometimes.

Hope you can give me some reference so that I can go ahead.

Now my sincere request to increase the No of trains with frequency of 15 to 20 minutes, so as to rightly call MMTS - Multi Model Transport System, rather than presently being called as “ Much More Train Services”
